The school district is approximately 109 square miles in area and is composed of three municipalities, Derry Township, Derry Borough and the Borough of New. “It’s our department’s goal to save money in transportation costs that can be used for better purposes. The school district plans to continue adding propane autogas buses to its fleet in the coming years. These buses, which will replace aging diesel models, will be deployed for the 2016-17 school year. Later this year, DTSD will take delivery of three additional Blue Bird Propane Vision buses. The Blue Bird Propane Vision buses, equipped with ROUSH CleanTech fuel systems, have already saved the school district money by reducing fuel and maintenance costs.
